The Missions Ministry at UCC exists to help implement the command of Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20 to... "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." As Jesus also said to His disciples in Matthew 9:36-38..."The harvest is plentiful and the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field. With these Scriptures as our mandate, the Missions Ministry pursues opportunities each year to spread the gospel at home and abroad, to support educational endeavors and benevolent activities, and to meet special needs of our supported missions and others too. Close to 60 percent of our 2007 budget was earmarked for overseas work -- the balance was in support of local, state and national work. Pictures and contact information for supported missions are located on the bulletin board along the hallway by the sanctuary. Local and State Missions

Worldwide Missions
The Missions Ministry receives each year a fixed percentage of the general budget to fund the various missions supported. In CY 2007 the percentage received was 16 percent, amounting to a total of $91,744.00. Included in the missions budget are "mission activity" funds which provide supplemental dollars to our regularly supported missionaries if they encounter a special need as well as one-time gifts for such ministries as the Chaplaincy Endorsement Commission and the Safety Net of the National Church Growth Research Center.
