Rapid Response ministry
tornadoinmanhattan.jpg

When disaster struck Manhattan earlier this summer, the aftermath left many people with unanswered questions. “Where do I turn for help?” “How can I help those who need it?” Now YOU can be the answer!

Mission

The Rapid Response Ministry exists to unite faith-based organizations in the Manhattan area to serve for the glory of God in times of emergency. We work to coordinate volunteers, identify needs and collaborate work efforts within the community of Manhattan and nearby areas.

Who we are.

The Rapid Response Ministry is a collaboration of believers from several area churches. We unite for community disaster relief and put aside our differences of sect or denomination. University Christian Church handles our administrative and technical support, but participation in the Rapid Response Ministry is open to members of all churches.

What we do.

We are active throughout the year, with a 24-hour hotline available. Members of the ministry work diligently to acquire equipment and supplies, network with local agencies, participate in continuing education, and teach community members how to prepare for disasters.

How we can help you.

During times of imminent danger, we encourage the public to always call 911 first. Once a threat to life or property has been handled by police, fire or EMS, we are here to help you and your family put the pieces back together. We seek to provide food, shelter, clean-up and crisis chaplaincy.

How you can help us.

If you or your church group has a desire to serve during community emergencies, we welcome you. Please contact us to get our meeting schedule and join our e-mail list. We are also able to provide receipts for any tax-deductible donations you can offer, including tools, equipment and supplies.

Contact.

Verse of The Day
“ "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)
