Sanctuary Use Guidelines

Both members and non-members can reserve the sanctuary for use.  The sanctuary use request must be submitted for approval at least one month in advance.  Any additional rooms, such as the kitchen or nursery, need to be scheduled separately.  Use of the sanctuary includes the following restrictions:

  1. Furnishings can be moved in the sanctuary but must be returned to the original location.  Any sanctuary chairs that are separated must be reconnected. Events requiring extensive rearrangement of the sanctuary chairs will require special consideration and additional fees, especially if the event occurs on a Friday evening or a Saturday.
  2. The organ shall not be moved.  The piano shall not be moved off the stage platform, but it may be repositioned to accommodate special events, such as a piano recital. No items shall be placed on the piano for display, whether covered or uncovered.
  3. Chairs or other furnishings in the sanctuary are not to be used as step stools.
  4. An approved UCC sound technician must operate the sound system.  Special arrangements must be made with Jerry Hutchinson (contact the church office).
  5. Light refreshments, such as cookies, can be served in the sanctuary.  However an additional use fee would be required. Red-colored punches are not allowed.
  6. The foyer is considered to be part of the sanctuary.
  7. Individually held candles by the audience are not allowed for non-UCC sponsored events.

Building Use Fee Schedule

Current non-UCC user groups (NA and TOPS) meeting regularly at the adoption of this policy can continue to meet at UCC at the current use fee until further notice. However, other user guidelines described within this document will apply to these groups. The UCC Buildings and Grounds Committee will review requests from new non-UCC groups for recurring (weekly, monthly, etc.) meetings on a case-by-case basis.

Sanctuary Use Fee Schedule:*

UCC Function - NA

UCC User (Christian Function, non-UCC sponsored activity) - No Fee+

UCC User (Other Type Function) - $25+

Non-UCC User - $75+

  • exception for piano recitals - $25 +

Sanctuary Chair Realignment (See Sanctuary Use Guideline 1) - $30

Sound technician (if needed)

  • On-site set up and adjustment of microphones - $20 plus $10/hour
  • Standard microphone set-up and no on-site adjustment - $10

Projectionist - $10 plus $10/hour

Non-UCC deposit - $100

 

Main Building Rooms

Any additional rooms reserved in conjunction with the sanctuary can be scheduled at an additional service fee of $10 per room.  Please schedule meetings that do not require the use of the sanctuary into rooms available in the education or family life center buildings.

*Any event ending after 4 p.m. on Saturday or the day before or on a holiday will have usage and sound technician fees increased by 50 percent. If custodial services are needed for the event, these services must be arranged in advance and an additional fee may be required.

+Additional service fee of $25 is required if refreshments are served and includes the use of the kitchen. Piano recital fee will be at the rate of UCC user (non-Christian activity).
